Hi. The facebook like button does not seem to add the ‘like’ to the newsfeed on my facebook page… is it something to do with the facebook app id box?

    Thanks

Hi Paul, if you enable the “Use Html5 code instead of iFrame” Facebook Like button option, the user clicking “Like” is prompted to post the link on its Timeline.

Hello, I am very please with this plugin -it turned out very nice on my site .. until I installed another plugin which was incompatible with this one, I got some html-code on my site and two buttons (Twitter, Linkedin) disappeared. After removing both plugins and reinstalling ‘really simple share buttons’ still both buttons don’t show up anymore no matter what I try.

Could you please help me out?

Hi, I used the twitter plugin on a site, great!!!
I am just wondering how I can put an extra white space (linebreak) between the tweets?

Hi Ernest, you may do it with CSS. Try adding to your theme style.css file a line like this:
      .really_simple_twitter_widget li { margin-bottom:10px; }

    Hello,

I am using your WP-plugin (Soc. media share buttons) on my site. Ihboan-activities.nl.
    It works and looks fine.
As I want to add a tweet to my t-account It unfortunately comes up with the URL (http://www.ronny.trimm.nl/wordpress/) in stead of the domain name.
Is there a way to force the domainname in the reactions in stead of the URL?

    Please let me know.

    Kind regards,

    Ronny Berning

Hi, I’m trying to use “Really Simple…” as a WP plug-in. It’s working fine except I want to turn it off on one specific page. I can’t find a toggle in the Screen Options on the page. Help please? Cheers.

Hi Nivra, enable the “Custom Fields” box in Screen options, then scroll down to the “Custom Fields” box, click “enter new”, type “really_simple_share_disable” as name and “yes” as value, then save. Cheers!

    Dear WhileTrue:

I am using your wonderful Really Simple Share plugin on two sites and would like to know whether I can include the social share buttons on woocommerce generated pages. If so, would you kindly instruct me on how to do it?

    Thank you!

Hi Tim, we’re working on automated support for e-commerce plugins and custom posts, at the moment you can try to customize the woocommerce generated pages inserting near the product description tags our share buttons php function:
      < ?php echo really_simple_share_publish(); ?>

Hello! I want to use your share plugin and I want to know if it can be customized from the admin panel (icons, fonts). Thanks

Hi Antonia, you can customize a lot of settings in the admin panel, even including a Call to action. At the moment the font and images are not editable because we support only the official version of each button.

I’ve used the really simple twitter widget on couple of projects and it works great!

Is there a way you could implement it on a standard html website?

    Cheers

      Hi Gene,
the simplest way to do it is looking at your website generated html code and copy&paste the resulting plugin code (made of some javascript and css inclusions and a div class="really-simple-share", making the linked url and page title dynamic.

Hi. I have been using your WP Really Simple FB and Twitter share plugin and it had been working until I updated things yesterday. Now they don’t show. I looked in the “Settings” part and see General Options/Share Buttons/Check to Activate – and I see (old) Facebook Share but NO Twitter. So I check the Facebook share and it now shows but looks very different than before.

I’m using WP 3.6. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Hi, I tested the last releases on different sites, sometimes the options get corrupted after several plugin updates. To provide a standard solution I put a new “Reset to Default values” button on the 2.13 release out today. If your options pane is messed up with recent updates, use the Reset button (on the lowest right of the plugin settings page) to give the plugin a fresh start. Please take a note of your plugin configuration before resetting the options, or remember the data you want to put back in.

My site is still in development so I can’t include a link to it.

However, please see the following images for the problem I have. It appears Really Simple Twitter Feed Widget is causing a Twitter bird to sit in the top left of all my screens. As pretty as it is, it’s really annoying. It’s only by disabling the plug in does it go away!

    Hi,

After this week’s plug-in update (Really Simple Twitter Feed for WordPress), our posts aren’t updating on our Twitter timeline as of 11.18.2013.

Is another update expected for WordPress 3.7.1?

    Thank you!

A few days ago the twitter and linkdin buttons went away after my posts on 3 different installations with firefox browser. I reset them to default (didn’t work) Updated the plugin and tried everything else I could think of. Then I looked with Google Chrome and IE and it works with those browsers. It seems to be something with firefox but I haven’t been able to find it. It was working fine with firefox but stopped all of a sudden, old facebook share button still works.
Has anyone else had that problem? Have you figured out how to resolve it?
    Appreciate the help

When i want to share something i get a lot of html in the box, not the text of the ting i would like to share. what could be the problem ?

Hi Olivier, great site of yours! The issue is due to the comment box “allowed tags” section, that is sometimes picked up by Facebook when the post isn’t long enough. You could avoid it appending this CSS rule to your theme’s style.css file:
      .form-allowed-tags { display: none; }

Please note that the changess won’t be immediately visible because Facebook caches texts on its side for 12-24 hours.

Great social buttons plugin. Thanks so much
    Question:
I installed the plugin of the social buttons, they appear below the posts, OK.
But I do not want them to appear also on the excerpts at the home page.
How can I get that off?
Thanks in advance for some help

Hi, depending on your theme, you can try to enable the plugin option “disable on excerpts” or modifying the theme directly.

When a reader tries to share a post to FB, this message shows up: Nothing found for ?p=2960
    BOOKSBYJOY.COM
Not found, error 404The page you are looking for no longer exists. Perhaps you can return back to the site’s homepage and see if you can find what you are looking for. Or, you can try finding it by using the search form below.

Plus, the graphic options are not from the post, but are widgets.

Not sure what’s up – help?

I was wondering why the share buttons do not line up. For instance, the email and google+ are up higher up than the facebook and twitter. I am having trouble with this on other pluggins as well, not just yours.

Hi, it’s probably dependent on your theme, I suggest you to customize it with some CSS margins.

I’ve recently upgrade to WP 4.0.
The REALLY SIMPLE TWITTER WIDGET plug in is giving me the error code below:
Twitter data error: Could not authenticate you
    Unable to get tweets
Debug info: [32] Could not authenticate you – username: “Paul_Pruneau”

I’ve checked the Twitter API and token keys. All is accurate.
Please provide a solution to restore my Twitter feed in the widgets on my site.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi Adrian, there’s nothing to fix. The number shown is the sum of likes and shares, by (Facebook’s) design.
